Only 20听years since undergraduate instruction began, 榴莲视频成人APP is a recognized leader in conducting academic research, developing young minds for career success and driving economic growth, the university鈥檚 chancellor said Wednesday.

榴莲视频成人APP鈥檚 San Joaquin Valley PRIME+ (B.S. to M.D.) pathway continues to grow as it teams up with Sutter Gould Medical Foundation and Sutter鈥檚 Memorial Medical Center in Modesto. The collaboration will give undergraduate students in the pathway the opportunity to complete immersive, eight-week clinical experiences alongside physicians in a range of specialties, bringing them one step closer to their goal of serving communities throughout the Valley.

In the United States, 20 percent of the population is Latino. By 2050, it鈥檚 expected that one in three people will identify as Latino. But less than 7 percent of doctors come from a similar background.

Dr. Michael Galvez, a board-certified pediatric hand surgeon at Valley Children鈥檚 Hospital in Madera County, is on a mission to change that number. In 2022, he cofounded National Latino Physician Day, which is aimed at raising awareness and is part of an effort to increase the minority health care workforce.

The stethoscopes may come later, but the commitment to community was clear as 榴莲视频成人APP welcomed its newest SJV PRIME+ students last weekend. The Student and Family Welcome event marked the beginning of an eight-year journey for 15 students who will progress from bachelor鈥檚 degrees at 榴莲视频成人APP to medical degrees from the UCSF School of Medicine, and complete clinical training at UCSF Fresno 鈥� all with a shared mission to strengthen health care in the San Joaquin Valley.听

榴莲视频成人APP鈥檚 graduating Class of 2025 recently celebrated its achievement at the campus鈥檚 spring commencement, joined by family members, close friends and loved ones.

For two graduates, Jahaira Morales and Bryan Gutierrez, the ceremony also was an opportunity to meet with a couple of other individuals who have been invested in their higher-education journey at 榴莲视频成人APP 鈥� their scholarship benefactors, Dar Chen and Cheryl Matsubara.

Medical education at 榴莲视频成人APP is expanding at a rapid pace as part of the campus鈥� long-term goal to address the shortage of physicians and health care professionals in the Central Valley.

San Joaquin Valley native Anmol Kaur is well on her way to making a splash in the worlds of science and medicine. The Bakersfield resident, coming to 榴莲视频成人APP as a first-year student, parlayed strong experiences in high school into a slot in the second SJV PRIME+ medical education cohort.

Kaur is poised to follow a path taken by her parents, who both have careers in medicine.
